If you opened the door, pulled the thick red curtain aside and squeezed in, you were inside the X-Cess. The music in the bar was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation, and the air was stuffy with cigarette smoke. Right in the middle is landlord Ismail Yilmaz, whom they all simply called Isi. He poured and danced along. When an evening began in the small bar in the Glockenbachviertel, nobody knew how it would end. But something always happened. Isi usually wore a white undershirt and a Soviet general’s cap on her head. He was the supreme commander of the Munich night, mascot of the pleasure-seekers.
