The flamingos not only give the name to an entrance in Hellabrunn, but are also a landmark of the Munich Zoo. Until now, there were birds of all shades of red living in the enclosure there, but now they have been heavily sorted out and the flamingo group has been almost halved. However, the reason for this is positive, explains the responsible curator Lena Bockreiß. She speaks of a “scientific world premiere”.
