Munich: What do young people say about juvenile crime? – Munich

It’s about belts, locks and seals. Around emergency exit signs, wooden paneling and epoxy resin tables. Anyone who listens to the three young people as they plan in the workroom of a youth center in the west of Munich would think they were listening to typical hardware store visitors. But there are no wealthy people in their mid-forties sitting on the small stools. Here are Fausi, 15 years old, Hakim, 17, and Abi, 18. And together the three of them are building a hut in the garden of the youth club in Neuhausen, largely on their own. They should soon be able to use their building, completely freely. To hang out, to chill out; the young people have many terms for it. A place that you don’t have anywhere else in Munich – or can’t afford it.
