The city thanked the environmentally friendly act with a stele and a sign pointing to the donors. This tablet was recently stolen by unknown persons. “We don’t know whether it was politically motivated or pure vandalism, in any case it’s very unfortunate,” said Maria Hemmerlein, a board member in the local Greens association.
The board spokeswoman and donor Maria Nowack adds: “We would have liked our campaign to be an incentive to think about what you can do yourself to mitigate climate change. How can it be that we draw the ire of other people on us?” The Greens reported the theft to the police.
