Munich University of Applied Sciences: Jörg Finger becomes the new chancellor – Munich

The chancellor of a university is an important person – sometimes perhaps just as important as the president. Because the Chancellor decides on further development, finances, construction plans, digitization – areas that keep academic operations running.

Jörg Finger will become the new chancellor of Munich University of Applied Sciences on February 1, 2023. He comes from the University of Hamburg, where as head of human resources he was responsible for all topics relating to leadership, teamwork and career development with a team of more than 100 people. He also headed the staff unit for digitization in administration.

Finger studied business and cultural sciences. HM President Martin Leitner now welcomed the new colleague: “With Jörg Finger we were able to gain a personality who is convincing both in professional and personal terms. I am very much looking forward to future cooperation.”
