After two fires on Monday morning, the Munich police are investigating a political background. Initially, around half past three, a driver called the emergency department to report that there was a fire at the Ludwigsbrücke. The fire was discovered and extinguished in a cable shaft on the temporary bridge for pedestrians.
At around 7:30 a.m. the police were informed that a work machine was on fire in the Harlaching part of the Perlach Forest. Because of similar attacks in the past, in addition to the arson investigators, officers from Department 4, which is responsible for politically motivated crime, are also investigating both cases.
