Due to a fire in a branch of the Munich snack chain “Türkitch”, the fire department closed Rotkreuzplatz in Neuhausen on Wednesday and evacuated the department store there as a precaution. No one was injured during the operation, and the material damage is estimated at several tens of thousands of euros.
At lunchtime, the extractor hood of the snack bar on Wendl-Dietrich-Straße caught fire for reasons that are still unclear. The smoke had reached the adjacent department store, which is why the fire department brought people out of the building.
An automatic sprinkler system prevented the flames from spreading; The fire department extinguished the rest. Because of the extinguishing work, Rotkreuzplatz had to be closed to traffic. The Munich Police Department 13, which is responsible for fire crimes, is now investigating the cause of the fire.
