At first you thought: It’s amazing what is suddenly possible! Then came a period of disillusionment. After two years of pandemic, many have got used to working at home. Some appreciate the home office so much that they can hardly imagine going back to work in the office. Others can’t wait for the day to close their laptop at home and go back to the office. Due to Corona, the clearly defined zones that separate business and private life have dissolved spatially and temporally. In the future, hybrid working models will prevail in many industries, some colleagues will be in the office, others will work at home. Surveys show that most employees can imagine working from home two to three days a week. Three large Munich companies report on how they shape the world of work – and the scientist Martin Högl explains the advantages and disadvantages of this new normal.
