Munich: “The housing shortage contributes to the violence” – District of Munich

Because an affordable home in the Munich area is scarce, many women are at the mercy of their husbands. Katharina Rosinger from the intervention center in the district office therefore tries to help in other ways. A conversation.

When an intervention center was set up at the district office in 2012 to help women and children who are victims of domestic violence, there were voices that domestic violence was not an issue in the affluent district of Munich. The opposite is the case. Today there are seven employees, all trained trauma advisors, by the side of those affected. Advice is provided free of charge, voluntarily, confidentially and, if desired, anonymously. On the day of action against violence against women on Thursday, November 25th, Katharina Rosinger, the deputy head of the intervention center, explains why it is important to break the taboo.
