The activists of the “Last Generation” have announced that they will no longer use glue on streets in the future. What remains are dozens of procedures – and the question of what will come next.
The announcement sounded appealing: This time the “Last Generation” (LG) wanted to come with tractors. The group of climate activists who have been sticking to streets for almost exactly two years, including in Munich since autumn 2022, wanted to do the same as the farmers on January 10th. They attracted all the media and political attention by using large vehicles to protest against what they saw as the traffic light government’s unjust austerity policies. Politicians listened to the farmers, which gave the “Last Generation” the idea of using tractors themselves: “What else could it take for us to be as warmly welcomed by politicians as the farmers.”
