Munich: The Cuban piano star Harold Lopez-Nussa in Unterfahrt – Munich

Cuban music is known to be more versatile than from Buena Vista Social Club or Iraqis conveyed. There is, for example, the pianist Harold López-Nussa, who was born in Havana in 1983. The classically trained musician may have earned his first spurs with greats from the above-mentioned circle of people like Omara Portuondo, but he is now leading Cuban musical forms such as son, rumba, salsa and mambo into the jazz of the future – which he has already done at his side demonstrated by the great US trumpeter Christian Scott. It is precisely this interface that the title of his current guest appearance in the underpass, which reads: “Timba a la Americana”. In addition to his younger brother Ruy Adrian on drums and Luques Curtis on bass, he will be accompanied as a star guest by US-based Swiss harmonica virtuoso Gregoire Marét.
