Munich: The campaign teddy bear hospital in the Munich Clinic Schwabing – Munich

Even a teddy bear can have a stomach ache. Maybe because the little owner accidentally fell asleep on it. Or because “Balu” just fell off the table. But how to help? Off to the teddy bear hospital.

It was open for three days in the Munich clinic in Schwabing and 400 kindergarten children brought their cuddly toy patients. They were X-rayed, sewn up or even operated on by medical students from LMU and TU. To be on the safe side, the teeth were also examined.

The aim is to take away the fear of doctors, injections or the hospital in preschool children. Every step, from the examination to the operation, was explained to the children in detail. Patrons of the campaign were the chief physicians for pediatrics and children’s surgery from the children’s clinics at Munich Clinic Schwabing and Harlaching and the Haunersche Children’s Clinic.
