Munich: The 3G rule applies from Monday – Munich

With the city above the incidence of 35 for the third day in a row, indoor regulations are soon to be tightened. Anyone who wants to go to the cinema, gym or restaurant, for example, has to be vaccinated, recovered or tested.

The city of Munich exceeded the seven-day incidence of 35 for three days in a row, on Saturday the value was 48.5. This is why the so-called 3G rule will come into force on Monday, August 23rd, which will make the life of unvaccinated people more complicated. Because only those who have been fully vaccinated, tested or recovered are allowed to go to restaurants, to the cinema or as a visitor to the hospital, for example. A negative rapid test must not be older than 24 hours, a PCR test not more than 48 hours old.

Many areas of life that take place indoors are affected by the 3G rule, such as fitness studios, private parties or services that are close to the body. Hotel guests not only have to present a negative corona test upon arrival, but also every 72 hours thereafter.

Another new feature is that from now on, sport and cultural events with a “transnational character” are allowed up to 50 percent of the maximum number of spectators instead of 35, provided the competent district administrative authority agrees. This applies above all to larger halls and stadiums. The absolute upper limit increases from 20,000 to 25,000 people – which is relevant for Bundesliga games, for example.
