Miraculously, nobody was injured in a head-on collision between a taxi and a tram in Bogenhausen. Around 11 p.m. on Sunday evening, according to the police, a 50-year-old taxi driver got into the oncoming lane of Ismaninger Straße for reasons that are still unknown and crashed into an oncoming tram on line 37, which was heading towards Herkomerplatz. The taxi, in which there were no passengers, was dragged a few meters by the tram.
According to the police, it is not known how many passengers were on the tram. They got out of the car immediately after the collision and walked away. The taxi was totaled. The tram was initially no longer operational and had to be upgraded to get to the depot. The police estimate the total damage caused by the accident at around 70,000 euros.
