Munich: Suspected thief and robber caught after three offenses – Munich

A 34-year-old man who was arrested by the police early Friday morning in Munich’s old town is said to have committed three crimes in a row. First he is said to have stolen the handbag of an 18-year-old. Then it may have come to an extortion offense against a still unknown, said a police spokesman. At least witnesses said during interrogations that they heard sentences like “No, I don’t have any money” at the scene. Finally, the suspect tried to rob a 69-year-old’s wallet. However, this failed because the purse was attached to a chain. Around 4 a.m., local residents became aware of the victim’s calls for help, who fled to the nearby main fire station. The police arrested the 34-year-old suspect as a result of the immediate manhunt that was initiated. Among other things, she found the 18-year-old’s mobile phone on him. An investigating judge issued an arrest warrant. Commissariat 21, telephone 089/2910-0, accepts relevant information.
