Munich: street musicians robbed in the pedestrian zone – Munich

A street musician was robbed by two men in the pedestrian zone shortly before midnight on Thursday. The crime happened almost within earshot of the Munich police headquarters, on Neuhauser Strasse, officials said. Shortly before the Karlstor, the 62-year-old was still playing his guitar in front of two listeners when two men in their early twenties, about 1.75 meters tall, approached and started an argument.

When the other listeners left, one of the two men pulled a black gun from his waistband, while the other took a 100 euro note from the instrument case. Then they fled in the direction of Marienplatz, past the police headquarters. However, an immediate search was unsuccessful. The police are now asking for witnesses (Tel. 089/29100); the main offender is said to have a noticeable gap between the upper incisors.
