Although the great cellist Daniel Müller-Schott has played Robert Schumann’s cello concerto many times around the world with well-known conductors and with the best orchestras, his appearance in the Freiheizhalle as a soloist in this concert was also a premiere for him: he played Schumann’s concerto in a version for string orchestra by the Dutch violinist Michael Waterman.
