Munich: sixth fire in the SAP Garden – Munich

Construction workers discover the scene of the fire, and almost all that is left is ash. The police are still looking for an arsonist, and 10,000 euros have been offered for information on the perpetrator.

A fire broke out again at the SAP Garden construction site in the Olympic Park. It is now the sixth fire there since mid-June. Construction workers alerted the police at around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. They had previously noticed the smell of burning and discovered a self-extinguished fire. Nobody was injured.

According to the police, it is not yet clear what exactly caused the fire. More or less only ashes were found. Whether it is a fire “out of order” or whether it is part of a suspected arson series is being determined. In three previous cases, stored insulation material was on fire, once a ventilation system. In the first fire on June 14, 14 construction workers were missing, but they were rescued unharmed.

Red Bull, the operator of the future venue for ice hockey professionals and the basketball players of FC Bayern, had offered a reward of 10,000 euros after the fourth incident for information on the perpetrator or perpetrators. This one is still standing.
