Munich-Schwabing: Tram collides with snow plow – Munich

Due to a collision between a tram and a snow plow, Schwer-Reiter-Straße had to be closed for two hours at the junction with Elisabethstraße on Wednesday evening.

At around 6:10 p.m., an employee of the city’s winter service drove a small clearing vehicle along the Schwer-Reiter-Straße out of town. At the intersection with Elisabethstrasse, the snowplow driver wanted to turn around and for this purpose turned left. However, he overlooked a tram that was also traveling out of town. The train hit the left side of the clearing vehicle head-on and pushed it along for a few meters.

The winter service employee suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by emergency services. Nobody on the train was injured. However, the tram and clearing vehicle were seriously damaged. The police estimate the damage at tens of thousands of euros.
