Munich school burns – and extinguishes itself – Munich

“That’s awesome!” That’s how the band sang in the eighties extra wide the fact that the school is on fire. How great would the musicians have found it that the burning school extinguished itself again – albeit at the cost of major water damage. This is what happened at the Louise-Schroeder-Gymnasium in Munich’s Untermenzing district.

Craftsmen had noticed the water damage. This was preceded by an undetected fire in a drain basin in the chemical preparation room. The water pipe of an eye shower melted due to the intense heat and extinguished the fire. However, the water continued to run out and finally covered the floor in several rooms and the auditorium on two levels of the building by two centimeters.

The fire brigade estimates the damage to property at several hundred thousand euros. According to the first assessments of the police, it could be arson – whether negligently or intentionally caused, the investigation would have to show.
