Munich: “Russian disco” author Wladimir Kaminer reads in the Lustspielhaus – Munich

Wladimir Kaminer doesn’t have it easy. In general, because the writer, who has been living in Berlin for almost 25 years, was born in Moscow, became famous with his first short story collection “Russendisko” and, given the currently tense German-Russian relations, finds himself unintentionally caught in the middle. Currently, because like so many people, he has problems with Christmas – which in Russia isn’t celebrated until two weeks later anyway.

The 56-year-old always took and takes all of this with humor. In his many books, including the recently published “Breakfast on the Edge of the Apocalypse”, in his radio column “Wladimir’s World”, in his cinema section “Kaminer’s Cinema” in the epd movie or in appearances such as in the music video for Dyke child-Song “Straight Ahead”. He is a regular guest at reading and cabaret stages, and now again after a long time comedy house with “Kaminer’s Christmas”. With a Christmas reading, but a special kind. In which he takes his very own funny look at the “most wonderful time of the year” that is once again completely unexpectedly just around the corner.
