Munich: reading and discussion in the Lenbachhaus – Munich

During the National Socialist dictatorship, the majority of German writers and visual artists went into exile. But how did those who remained in the country deal with the political situation between 1933 and 1945? The author Anatol Regnier and the art historian Ilka Voermann deal with this question in a reading and discussion.

Results from Regnier’s book “Everyone writes for themselves” and the exhibition “Art for Nobody 1933 – 1945” curated by Voermann will be presented. The stories between adaptation and artistic integrity often remained surprisingly ambivalent. The event takes place as part of the exhibition “Art and Life 1918 to 1955”, which can be seen in the Lenbachhaus until April 16. Admission is free, the number of places is limited.

“Everyone writes for themselves – art for nobody”, Mon, March 6, 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m., admission 6.15 p.m., Georg-Knorr-Saal, Lenbachhaus, Luisenstraße 33
