Gastronomy establishments, brothels, apartments: The Munich public prosecutor’s office had 40 objects searched and 64 suspects are being investigated. They are said to have wrongly received millions in corona aid.

The Munich I public prosecutor’s office succeeded in striking a ring of suspected fraudsters with corona subsidies. “There was a raid,” said a spokeswoman for the authority on Friday and confirmed a report of Mirror. She did not comment on the details.

Loud Mirror 40 objects were searched before Easter, including restaurants, brothels and private apartments. It was “one of the largest raids to date to investigate corona subsidy fraud,” reported the news magazine. In this case alone, the public prosecutor’s office has 64 suspects, almost a dozen of whom are in custody.

The accused are said to have applied for corona aid without justification or in an inadmissible amount and enriched themselves from it.
