Munich: politicians appalled by the short-term relocation of refugees – Munich

Shortly before Christmas, two dozen people had to leave their accommodation abruptly. The social department, which knew nothing about the action, is now trying to find new ones to stay in the old area.

The action of the government of Upper Bavaria to throw around two dozen refugees from their communal accommodation a few days before Christmas and to distribute them to other locations in Munich, triggered outrage among Munich politicians. “It is unforgivable to pull already traumatized people out of their living environment completely suddenly,” said the SPD parliamentary group leader Anne Huebner on Monday. “At least for the families, the government has to find quick solutions here so that the children can return to their old schools after the holidays.”

It is uncertain whether the government of Upper Bavaria will make an effort. In the meantime there have been discussions with the management of the social department, which is now looking for accommodation in the former area at short notice. According to SZ information, however, Dorothee Schiwy was only informed a few days ago that mothers with children and families who are already recognized as asylum seekers in the shared accommodation in Allach had to move out within seven days so that Afghan local staff could move in there temporarily.

For the Green City Councilor Bernd Schreyer, co-consultant for the social department, the short-term evacuation of the accommodation is “a perfidious procedure. The government throws out some so that others who should actually find accommodation in the urban housing system can drive out recognized families in the city district.”
