Munich: Police operation because of a blank gun – Munich

More than ten police patrols drove to a homeless shelter in Aubing early Monday evening because a man with a pistol had been reported there.

A resident of the facility called 911 because another resident was running around in the courtyard of the property and had shown a firearm to another person. He then put the gun in his jacket and went to his room.

The police were actually able to overpower the 62-year-old man when he left his room a short time later. The weapon, a blank pistol, was also found in a jacket. This can be purchased freely by adults – but it can only be used in public with a so-called small weapon license. However, the gun owner did not have one. He is now facing charges for violating the weapons law.
