Munich: Police catch S-Bahn grabber – man has already been noticed several times – Munich

The police have identified a 55-year-old man who is said to have harassed and sexually harassed a young woman on the S-Bahn. The Federal Police Inspectorate reported on Wednesday that he groped the 23-year-old on December 7th in an S6 to Tutzing. First, he showed her “a video with clearly pornographic content” on his cell phone. When the smartphone fell to the floor, he is said to have approached the young woman and grabbed her private parts. “He used the backpack he was carrying to obscure what he was doing from bystanders,” said the federal police. The 23-year-old then stood up and turned to a fellow passenger who helped her.

After a public call for witnesses, several women reported to the police who were also harassed or who made themselves available as witnesses to the attack. In cooperation with the criminal investigation department of the Munich police headquarters and with the help of recordings from the S-Bahn video surveillance, the 55-year-old was identified as a suspect. The officers then paid the man a visit – and found his clothes from the day of the crime.

The suspect was questioned and the clothing was “photographically documented for the subsequent criminal proceedings for sexual harassment.” However, the 55-year-old was not arrested. He has already been noticed several times for various crimes, most recently in October 2023 for exhibitionist acts on a bus.
