A taxi driver hit a pedestrian with his vehicle in Lehel on Sunday evening and seriously injured him, the fire department announced on Monday morning. The 21-year-old man from Munich probably overlooked the car driving into the city and stepped onto the road on Prinzregentenstrasse near the Haus der Kunst. The taxi driver was unable to stop his vehicle in time.
According to the fire department, the pedestrian hit the windshield and was thrown back onto the road. He remained there motionless.
Several eyewitnesses called the emergency number. The rescue workers looked after the seriously injured patient, who was then taken to the shock room of a Munich clinic. A crisis intervention team took care of the taxi driver and the equally shocked eyewitnesses.
