Munich: passer-by discovered corpse – homicide determined – Munich

A male body was discovered in a green area in the Neuperlach district of Munich on Sunday night. According to the police, the dead man was between 20 and 30 years old and was the victim of a violent crime. A police spokesman did not want to provide any further information in the morning because the relatives of the identified dead had not yet been informed. The Munich murder commission is working “at full speed”.

A passer-by discovered the dead man around 12:20 a.m. and alerted the police. In the darkness he had noticed the light-colored shoes that the man was wearing. The body lay in a green area on the corner of Peschelanger and Karl-Marx-Ring near a basketball hoop and was apparently covered in blood. Initially, there was no further information on the nature of the injuries and the possible tools used in the crime.

The site is surrounded by multi-storey residential buildings, interspersed with trees and dense bushes. Forensic investigators and investigators cordoned off the place with a mobile privacy screen and began their work with headlights on. More information about the homicide could be given later on Sunday if the dead young man’s family could be contacted.
