Munich-Pasing: Youngster falls under train – Munich

A 16-year-old fell under an incoming train at Pasing train station on Tuesday evening and sustained serious injuries to his leg. According to the federal police, the young person is said to have recently consumed laughing gas with an 18-year-old companion.

At around 8:15 p.m., the 16-year-old from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district suddenly ran off on platform 4 in the direction of an incoming train. According to the police, for an unknown reason he stumbled and got his upper body between two parts of a regional train. The train, which was traveling at around 40 km/h, hit the young person and then came to a stop. The train driver did not notice the accident.

Firefighters began providing first aid under the train and brought the young person on a rescue board to the coupling point, from where he was lifted onto the platform. In the accident, the 16-year-old suffered an open fracture of his lower leg and a hip injury. According to federal police, doctors in a Munich clinic tried to save the injured man’s leg in an emergency operation.

Several tracks at Pasinger train station had to be closed for an hour for rescue work. The police were able to seize a bottle of laughing gas on the platform; there is no evidence of foul play.
