Munich-Pasing: new bridge lifted – Munich

After a delay of several years, the bridge over Offenbachstraße north of the railway line was lifted on Saturday. The road was already closed on Friday and will remain closed between Bahntrasse and Nusselstraße until Sunday noon, according to the building department. The diversion is signposted on site.

The pedestrian and cycle path bridge was several years in the future because the asking prices for the originally planned solid construction had skyrocketed so much that the city authorities felt compelled to re-plan. Initially, it was expected that the bridge would be operational by the end of 2022.

With the bridge, cyclists and pedestrians can leave the busy Offenbachstrasse behind them. The new development area on Paul-Gerhardt-Allee can be reached more quickly and safely from the Pasing train station. According to the information, the bridge is also part of the main bicycle route, which runs along the north side of the existing railway systems from the city center in a westerly direction. The bridge is scheduled to be completed by November 2023.

In October 2021, the city council’s building committee granted the project approval at a cost of five million euros. The building department had already built a pedestrian and cycle path bridge south of the railway line in 2021, which connects the promenade along the Pasinger shopping center with the residential area to the east.
