Munich: Open air with films by Karl Valentin – Munich

Admission free, children half! This is what it looks like when the Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum invites you to the Isartor cinema. On Thursday, August 17, two classics by Karl Valentin, who was also an important film pioneer, can be seen there in the courtyard. This is evidenced by the current court exhibition (until October 24th), an installation dedicated to the famous Oktoberfest film that Valentin shot with Liesl Karlstadt in 1921.

It shows the very first film recordings of the Schaustellergasse. Valentin playfully combines entertainment and documentation and thus invented the infotainment format. The Musäum will not reveal which films the “room converters” will conjure up on the Isartor Wall on Thursday with their mobile projection device – only if the weather is good. Please bring your own seat pads.

Valentin in the Isartor cinema, Thursday, August 17, around 9 p.m., inner courtyard, Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum, free admission
