Munich: No penalty order against AfD politician Bystron for Hitler salute – Munich

The public prosecutor’s office failed with a criminal order against the Munich AfD member of parliament Petr Bystron because of an alleged Hitler salute. After the district court, the Munich I district court also rejected the issuance of the penalty order, said a judicial spokesman. The procedure is thus concluded. The Bundestag had lifted Bystron’s immunity in the summer. The background was a speech by the MP at an AfD rally on Munich’s Königsplatz. The public prosecutor’s office in Munich I accused Bystron of deliberately stretching his outstretched right arm in the direction of the participants and that this represented a forbidden Hitler salute. The district court initially did not follow this line of reasoning. There is no visible Hitler salute at Bystron. The regional court agreed with this judgment and also pointed out that the police officers present at the AfD demo had not reported anything.
