“Pure office high-rises are generally not aspired to”: The green-red town hall coalition in the city council decided on Wednesday to drastically tighten the specifications for new high-rise buildings. In the future, high-rise buildings should “combine uses such as living and working,” according to the decision made by the Green/Rosa List and SPD/Volt in the planning committee against the resistance of large sections of the opposition. And what’s more: Investors should even accommodate “permanently secured, affordable housing” in their high-rise buildings.
