Munich: night music in the rotunda of the Pinakothek der Moderne – Munich

In the series “Night Music of the Modern Age” the Munich Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Bas Wiegers, will be dedicating itself to the Polish composer Grazyna Bacewicz on Saturday, July 8, in the Pinakothek der Moderne. The trained violinist and former student of Nadia Boulanger is not only considered an important pioneer of modern music in Poland. With her individual style, she creates a new kind of bridge between the neo-romanticism of Karol Szymanowski and the modernism of Witold Lutosławski.

The concert in the rotunda starts at 10 p.m., at 9 p.m. there will be an introductory talk with Bas Wiegers and musicologist and dramaturge Marcin Trzęsiok, professor at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, in the Ernst von Siemens Auditorium. Holders of a concert ticket purchased in advance have the opportunity to take part in a night tour at 8 p.m.
