Munich: New tender for Domagk studios – Munich

It is widely known that it is difficult for artists in Munich to find an affordable studio. Private studios are hard to come by; the days when former workshops in backyards could serve as artists’ workspaces are long gone. This makes the urban studio spaces all the more sought after. But these are only advertised for a few years in order to give many people a chance. This is bitter for those who have to give way, but nice for others who are new to the role.

The Domagk studios are now being advertised for the period from 2025 to 2030. Artists living in Munich can apply. A jury decides on the award. The application deadline ends on March 8, 2024.

In Domagkpark at Margarete-Schütte-Lihotzky-Straße 30, with a total of 100 work rooms, there is the largest urban studio house managed by the cultural department. 93 artist studios are currently being advertised here. Three new studios have been added in Feldmoching (Waldmeisterstrasse 72-74 / corner of Robinienstrasse 64-66). The size of the studios varies greatly, the floor space is between 19 and 95 square meters and the room height is up to 7.80 meters. The studio house includes a 160 square meter exhibition room, Hall 50. Two guest studios are available for international artist exchange. In addition, the five music rehearsal rooms in the Domagk Atelierhaus are being advertised, also for the period from 2025 to 2030.

Applications must be sent by email to [email protected] by March 8th. Further information is available on the city portal muenchen.de.
