Munich: New refugee accommodation and tent city for more than 2,000 people – Munich

Munich is reaching its limits when it comes to accommodation, warns the social affairs department. The city council should therefore decide on a tent city at the trade fair and three new locations for more than 2,000 people. But there is resistance in the neighborhoods.

Against the background of persistently high numbers of refugees, the city of Munich wants to set the course to be able to accommodate all arriving people. To this end, the social committee should decide next week not only to set up a tent city on the exhibition grounds, but also to build three new accommodations: at the Anton-Ditt-Bogen in the Euro-Industrie-Park, on the urban area on Schult Heißstrasse in Solln and on the Ottobrunner Street in Ramersdorf. The city council is also expected to approve the extension of almost a dozen accommodations.
