Munich-Neuperlach: Six people injured in an apartment fire – Munich

Six residents were injured in a fire in an apartment building in Neuperlach on Sunday night, four of them seriously. According to the fire department, an apartment on the first floor of a building on Karl-Marx-Ring was completely burned out at around 3:30 a.m. The residents of the apartment that was on fire were able to leave the house in time. The remaining residents had to stay in their apartments because the stairwell was completely filled with smoke.

Paramedics took four residents of the house to the hospital with smoke inhalation. Two other people were slightly injured. In total, the fire brigade and rescue service had to look after 29 people in a large-capacity ambulance during the operation. The burned-out apartment is uninhabitable. All other residents were able to return to their apartments after the fire was extinguished.

According to the fire department and police, the cause of the fire is still unclear, but arson is currently being ruled out. The police estimated the damage at “several hundred thousand euros”.
