Munich: municipal field service patrols the Isar – Munich

The second weekend in April with temperatures around 25 degrees: The grass along the Isar in the city area is correspondingly flattened. To ensure that everything runs smoothly in the summer hotspot, the Isar floodplains are now being “patrolled” by the municipal field service (KAD), as the technical term goes.

The employees of the district administration council should explain the rules on noise protection, grilling and waste disposal, and also monitor them and thus ensure that the feeling of safety increases. They have been doing this around the main train station since 2018.

On the Isar they are supported by the nature conservation watch of the building department. There are also two information mobiles near Eduard-Schmid-Straße/Schlotthauerstraße and the Wittelsbacherbrücke at Schyrenplatz.

The city council decided on the project last year. It is intended to “promote compliance with the rules and increase awareness of the importance of the Isar as Munich’s valuable lifeline,” as it is said.

The frequency of patrols depends on the weather and the rush. At the end of the year, what they have achieved will be evaluated.
