Munich: Motorcyclist collides with police car – Munich

A 30-year-old motorcyclist collided with a police car while on duty in Munich and was seriously injured. The police said on Wednesday that the patrol car was traveling on Tuesday evening around 10:45 p.m. with flashing lights on Herterichstrasse, which has the right of way, towards Solln in the Forstenried district. At the same time, at the intersection with Drygalski-Allee, the motorcyclist wanted to turn left onto Herterichstrasse, even though he had no right of way.

This resulted in a collision. The traffic lights were switched off at the time. The biker fell on impact and his bike hit a parked car. According to police, the 30-year-old suffered an open fracture of his lower leg. The 29-year-old driver of the patrol car was taken to hospital with minor injuries. His 23-year-old passenger was uninjured. The police put the property damage at around 35,000 euros.
