Munich: More postal voters, significantly fewer polling stations – Munich

The city is expecting up to 400,000 postal voters in the state election, more than ever before in a vote at the state level. Almost half of those eligible to vote will have already checked their boxes before the actual election day on October 8th. The increase in postal voters also requires constant adjustments to the organization: for the first time in a state election, there will be more postal voting bodies than polling stations in the city. Four halls in the north of Munich are rented for counting.
