Munich: More green instead of parking spaces on Katharina-von-Bora-Straße – Munich

If 35 parking spaces on Katharina-von-Bora-Straße were eliminated, space could be created for pedestrians and trees. The axis between the museum district and the Old Botanical Garden could become an art boulevard.

Examples from Nice and Vienna show what Katharina-von-Bora-Strasse in the heart of Maxvorstadt could one day look like: A narrow alley is flanked by wide promenades, interrupted by occasional parking spaces, but above all by small islands of trees, benches and flower beds. However, the reality in the Maxvorstädter axis between Königsplatz and Museum Quarter and the Old Botanical Garden still looks different. Cars parked on both sides of the road still dominate, and urban greenery is a rarity.
