A 50-year-old man was arrested after a major police operation on Wednesday around 10 p.m. and admitted to a psychiatric facility.
A passerby had previously called 911: a man was walking down the street with two large kitchen knives in his hands. Several police officers who were dispatched then met two 24-year-old women at the Harthof subway station who said they had also seen the man. He also spoke to her and said that he had to kill a friend.
The two women knew the man briefly and they also knew where he lived. He was finally found in his apartment and arrested. During the operation, another woman came forward and stated that she had been attacked by the 50-year-old and had suffered minor injuries. She had superficial cuts but did not require medical attention.
