A chance victim – but then seriously injured with a fractured skull: A 57-year-old Munich man had this bad luck early on Friday evening at Münchner Freiheit.
He was attacked without reason and without warning by a 51-year-old man who suddenly hit him over the head with a glass bottle. The victim’s 22-year-old son was standing right next to him, but was unable to prevent the attack. The perpetrator tried to escape, but passers-by had already called the police and the patrol arrested the man. He was clearly intoxicated at 1.96 per mille.
The emergency services took the injured man to a hospital, where he was released after treatment. Because his health deteriorated again, he went to a clinic again, where the skull fracture was diagnosed.
The perpetrator is being investigated for grievous bodily harm.
