Between January 22nd and March 14th there will be timetable changes in S-Bahn traffic on the main Munich route twice a week, for a total of 15 times. Deutsche Bahn has announced diversions, stop cancellations and rail replacement services between the Ostbahnhof and Pasing stations for the nights from Monday to Tuesday and from Thursday to Friday – from 9.30 p.m. to 4.40 a.m. The signal box at Ostbahnhof will be renovated and around 400 kilometers of cable will be laid, according to a railway spokesman.
All S-Bahn lines are affected. Only the S6 trains run the entire main route between Ostbahnhof and Pasing without interruption. The railway is planning rail replacement services for the route between Ostbahnhof and Riem via Trudering. The S1 towards Freising and the airport begins and ends at the main train station. Trains on line S8 between Ostbahnhof and the airport start and end at Ostbahnhof, trains to and from Herrsching start and end in Pasing.
