Due to renovation work at the Hohenzollernplatz, Josephsplatz and Theresienstraße subway stations, the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) has to temporarily restrict the operation of the U2 and U8 lines on the Hauptbahnhof – Scheidplatz section. From Friday, January 26th to Sunday, March 17th, the Hohenzollernplatz – Central Station section will be closed on all weekends (except Carnival, February 9th to 11th) from Friday evening, 10:30 p.m. until the end of operations on Sunday.
The U2 runs every ten minutes between Feldmoching and Hohenzollernplatz and in the Messestadt Ost – Hauptbahnhof section. The U8 only runs between Neuperlach center and main station on Saturdays. Passengers can switch to the U3 between Scheidplatz and Sendlinger Tor. In the Sendlinger Tor – Hohenzollernplatz – Petuelring section, tram 27 offers an alternative. In the University (U3/U6) – Josephsplatz – Nordbad section, passengers can change to bus lines 153 and 154. During the period mentioned, bus 153 even runs at extended operating hours from 4 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. In the section Hauptbahnhof – Königsplatz – Universität – Ostbahnhof the City Ring bus also runs on lines 58/68.
