When the first German championship title for Bayer 04 Leverkusen becomes official at 7:20 p.m., there is no stopping not only in the BayArena, but also in the middle of Munich. At least that applies to the stadium on Schleißheimer Straße. Chants for coach Xabi Alonso are heard, then the Leverkusen fans sing: “Oh, how beautiful that is.” One supporter even sheds tears of joy, most of the others just keep singing while watching the images of joy from Leverkusen. “Only the SVB will become German champions,” is what can be heard on the street.
