A man who wanted to redeem various tickets at a kiosk in Schwabing at around 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday morning had no luck in the game. The operator was suspicious of the matter – he called the police. What had alarmed him: The day before his kiosk had been broken into, also in the morning, around seven o’clock. The perpetrator, who was still unknown at the time, had stolen goods with a total value of four figures. When the man with the lottery tickets came the next day, there were clear indications that it was the burglar from the previous day, according to the police.
After the 44-year-old kiosk operator had contacted the officials, they arrested the suspect near the kiosk. It is a 29-year-old from Munich, he is already known to the police. A court ordered a search of the home; the police secured the loot of the burglary. The suspect was then released. Now the police are investigating.
