Munich is sticking to the merger date for its housing companies – Munich

The supervisory board of the municipal housing company Gewofag is sticking to the merger with the sister company GWG on January 1, 2024 – even though the chairman of the Gewofag management, Andreas Lehner, resigned completely unexpectedly after just one month in office. Lehner should also have become head of the merged company “Münchner Wohnen”, which, with 68,000 apartments (almost 31,000 from GWG, a good 37,000 from Gewofag), became the city’s largest landlord and the fourth largest municipal landlord in Germany.
