Munich: How refugee children from Ukraine get into school – Munich

Of

Catherine Aldenhoff

Small children run up and down the stairs in the Luisengymnasium, suitcases and bags stand in the corridors, clothing donations are piled up in one classroom: coats, winter shoes, blankets, in another corner the diaper packs. A teacher carries two bags with water bottles into the auditorium, which serves as the arrival area for the refugees, and a pregnant woman gets a cup of tea in the canteen in the basement. On the ground floor, the door to the art workshop is open, “Painting for children” is written on a note on the door, in German and in Ukrainian.
