After the first wafts of fog have cleared, typical for Berg-am-Laimer November, the characteristics of the city silhouette appear: Olympic Tower, Hypo high-rise building, Frauenkirche, outlines of the Alps in the distance. The feet are soft, the steps spring – as it should be when walking on a tartan track. Both, a roof terrace with a view and a career, are part of what real estate developers understand by forward-looking office architecture. The fact that this New Work utopia was created in a part of the city that has so far been neglected does not make the new commercial district any less exciting. The “Macherei” could provide answers to an urgent question that many companies are asking themselves: How can employees be motivated to return to the office from their home office?
